THE AMIGOS BAND
Victor Manuel Ocasio is a dynamic Latin percussionist and musician whose career began in his early teens. He first honed his talents on drums and guitar, laying the foundation for what would become a lifelong devotion to music.
His professional journey took flight in the 1970s with Charlie Lopez and La Orquesta Nueva—a group that notably gave salsa legend Frankie Ruiz his first recognition as a vocalist. The band later rebranded as Conjunto Constanza,
where Victor further developed his unique sound and commanding stage presence.
Over the years, Victor performed with respected Latin music acts including Los Hermanos Moreno and David Cedeño and His Orchestra, gaining invaluable experience and deepening his roots in the genre.
Stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist, Victor released two original singles, “Solo Soy” and “Discotec,” complemented by five music videos. His work blends classic and contemporary Latin rhythms, showcasing his versatility and creative vision. These recordings can be found on YouTube under his name, Victor Manuel Ocasio.
Born in Río Piedras, San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1955, Victor remains deeply connected to his
cultural roots and musical heritage. Today, he is honored to be part of The Amigos, a talented
ensemble led by bassist, producer, and founder Marcos “Q” Quintanilla.
